Santa Frieren: Bringing Christmas Cheer Beyond the Journey’s End

It’s the holiday season, and I thought, what better way to combine my love for Beyond Journey’s End and the Christmas vibes all around, than to create a Santa-inspired version of Frieren! I’ve always adored her quiet, mysterious elegance, and I wanted to give her a festive twist while still keeping her iconic vibe intact.

Making a Santa inspired dress

To start, I designed a red velvet dress with white fur trim, keeping it cozy and festive while still true to Frieren’s modest silhouette. The dress is built off a circle skirt design, but with a Christmas-y spin to it. I added fluffy sleeves and a black belt, with gold buckle for that Santa charm. For the wig, I bought one off Amazon and styled Frieren’s iconic pig-tails; the whole look came together with a pretty affordable prop staff and the inclusion of a long white scarf I made! Holiday lights in The City

The photoshoot at our local city center was magical. I chose the evening to capture the glow of the Christmas lights decorating the streets, making it look straight out of a fantasy anime. The various trees along the street were the perfect backdrop, and every photo felt like I had stepped into a winter wonderland.

What I loved most was how people reacted—families and kids stopped by to compliment the outfit, and some even asked about Beyond Journey’s End. It felt like sharing my little slice of anime Christmas joy with the community. This project reminded me that cosplay is not just about recreating characters but also about reimagining them in a fun festive way! If Frieren ever celebrated Christmas, I like to think this is what she’d wear.
