Some conventions feel like work, but Colossalcon Texas 2024 was pure joy. Picture this: sliding down a water slide in the afternoon, grabbing tacos with friends, and then wandering the venue surrounded by some of the most incredible cosplayers you’ve ever seen. It was chill, welcoming, and packed with creative energy.
Taking place at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock, Texas this con had a little bit of everything. Between the water park, the arcade, and tons of food options at every price point, there was always something to do, eat, or explore. Whether we were floating on the lazy river or challenging each other to skee-ball, the atmosphere was the perfect mix of fun and laid-back.
And then there was the cosplay. We spent the weekend snapping photos of some amazing looks—from anime classics like Dragon Ball Z to the contemporary of Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen , everyone brought their best. The mix of cosplayers and characters was inspiring, and you could feel the passion in every detail and pose.
What stood out most, though, were the people. Everyone we met was down-to-earth and just happy to share their love for their fandom. Conversations flowed, fun stories were exchanged, and we left with a few new friends we’re already planning to meet up with at future cons~
Speaking of which, we’re gearing up for Anime Frontier next and even looking ahead to Sakura-Con 2025!
